About the Area

Sunshine Coast, BC

One of Canada's Most Beautiful Destinations

The northern Sunshine Coast is a destination unlike any other in Canada — a mosaic of fjords, islands, old-growth forest, and turquoise ocean. Reachable only by ferry or floatplane, it remains gloriously unspoiled.

Desolation Sound Marine Park

One of the largest marine parks in BC, with calm warm waters ideal for kayaking, swimming, and sailing. The Sound is home to prawns, oysters, crabs, and world-class diving.

Okeover Arm Provincial Park

Just minutes from the resort, Okeover Arm offers a sheltered inlet perfect for launching kayaks and canoes. Watch for eagles, herons, and seals along the shoreline.

Powell River

A 30-minute scenic drive from the resort, Powell River is a vibrant arts town with excellent dining, shopping, the Powell River Historic Townsite (a National Historic Site), and the legendary Sea Walk.

Lund — End of Highway 101

The northern terminus of the Pan-American Highway, the tiny village of Lund is a 5-minute drive away. Pick up fresh seafood, rent a kayak, or grab a legendary cinnamon bun at the historic Lund Hotel.

Savary Island

Take a water taxi from Lund to Savary Island — the 'Hawaii of Canada' — with white sandy beaches and turquoise waters unlike anything else in BC.

Hiking & Wildlife

The region offers trails for all levels. Black bears, bald eagles, orcas, and humpback whales are regular sights. The Sunshine Coast Trail runs 180km through the region.
