1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Desolation Sound Resort website (desolationsoundresort.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use this website. These terms apply to all visitors, enquirers, and guests who make reservations through or in connection with this website.

2. Reservations and Bookings

  • All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation by Desolation Sound Resort.
  • A valid credit card is required to secure a booking.
  • Rates are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes.
  • Cancellation terms vary by season — please refer to our Rates page for the current cancellation policy before booking.
  • The resort reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking at its discretion.

3. Guest Conduct

  • Guests are responsible for the conduct of all members of their party during their stay.
  • Noise must be kept to a respectful level at all times. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  • Smoking is not permitted inside any chalet.
  • Pets are welcome in designated pet-friendly chalets only. A pet fee applies.
  • Children are not permitted in Chalets 8-2 or 9-2 unless both units of the building are rented together.
  • Any damage to chalet property or resort facilities will be charged to the guest.

4. Check-in and Check-out

Standard check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request and subject to availability. Guests who have not checked out by 11:00 AM without prior arrangement may be charged an additional night.

5. Limitation of Liability

Desolation Sound Resort is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to guest belongings during their stay. Guests participate in all on-site and area activities (including use of the dock, beach, kayaks, and sauna) at their own risk. The resort is not liable for injury or loss arising from participation in activities or from natural hazards.

6. Website Use

All content on this website — including images, text, and design — is the property of Desolation Sound Resort and may not be reproduced without written permission. We make reasonable efforts to ensure content is accurate and up-to-date but do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any information on the site.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
