We planned our stay here as a real treat and it surpassed all our expectations. We arrived early having crossed on the ferry from Vancouver Island and we were welcomed and encouraged to go into our chalet and enjoy the facilities We were in Chalet 1 and the quality of everything was to a very high standard. We wanted a ‘get away from it all’ place and this is certainly that. We had brought things to cook for our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed, even the dining table was set beautifully for us. The hot tub cover was easy to remove and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in it looking out over the Sound as the sun set and later under the stars. The beds were very comfortable and, of course, it was so quiet, so nothing disturbing our rest.
It was truly a wonderful experience and one we would heartily recommend.

We loved everything about this place. It is in such a beautiful spot. The chalets are all uniquely different set in the trees overlooking Okeover Arm of Desolation Sound. Using the hot tub on the deck in the evening and in the morning was special. Facilities – everything you would need and high quality.

Wonderfully remote oceanfront location with all the amenities including fully equipped kitchen, cozy bedding, barbecue, and kayaks and canoes to use whenever you want. All you need to bring is food and a desire to unplug from your devices. The nights are absolutely silent – I’ve never slept better. Highly recommended if you are looking for a restorative getaway in nature.

What a fabulous place! The lodges are amazing just wish we could of spent longer . The accommodation was so spacious and well equipped and overlooking the river. It was so nice to have a bit of self catering after 3 weeks of eating out at least twice a day. Such a peaceful location and Lund the local village was filled with local crafts. I don’t know if the lady in charge was an owner or staff ,either way she was very kind and a huge help. The free use of canoes were great fun especially when a whale jumped out of the water just 8 ft in front of us ! Exciting but very scary! If I lived in Canada I would spend a week at Desolation resort every summer.

Really enjoyed our stay at Desolation Resort, the scenery was fantastic and so peaceful. It is just a short boat or canoe trip into Desolation Sound Marine Park which is simply breathtaking. Although the cabins look a little old on the outside, they are very comfortable. They are cleaned to a high standard and have all the self catering utensils you could possibly need. We stayed in #2 which had its own hot tub and a really quaint castle-like design! Only slight gripe is that there is minimal view because of the tree cover.
Highlight of the trip – picking oysters on the beach and cooking them on the BBQ!

Wonderful luxurious chalets imbedded in a breathtaking scenery that invites for hiking and any kind of watersports – especially canoeing and kayaking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the nature. There is no TV or telephone bothering you. The nearby restaurant Laughing Oyster offers excellent meals and in the community of Lund, which is a few kilometres from the resort you will find a well stocked general store.
